Price-shoppers. What are they and how do we avoid them?
A price shopper is someone that is shopping for a product or service and is really only shopping on 1 particular filter: Price.
They will often approach multiple vendors and ultimately really only be asking one determining question: “how much is this going to cost me?”.
Price shoppers unfortunately don’t really appreciate differences in quality or other factors, worst of all, they waste your precious time and effort you could be using on your ideal clients.
This sort of customer might be ok for companies who compete only on price -like discount chemists and supermarkets- it’s REALLY not ideal for professional, creative services like Architects.
So, how do we avoid wasting time on them?
In short: with a strong brand identity and reputation that sets the expectations well before they even make contact with you.
No one walks into a Ferrari showroom because they’re price-shopping for a car. That market is for other brands. The reason is that Ferrari has a very strong brand reputation. Everything they do is premium and in line with their identity – and with it come the pre-conceived expectations.

Video is how you can easily stand out. Instead of wanting ‘a result’ the clients who see this content want ‘your result’. They want to work with you and only you, price is not the motivating factor.
